Some love stories start with sparks flying immediately. Mary and Hayden’s almost didn’t start at all. After two weeks of less than stellar Hinge conversations, Mary decided to give it one last shot and asked Hayden to meet for a drink. Their original plans at The Royce fell through when the bar was closed for a private event, and after some last-minute improvising (and Mary panic-parking because she was running late), they ended up at Hockeytown CafĂ© instead. Turns out, that change of plans was the best thing that could have happened.
The conversation came easily, the chemistry was instant, and they spent the entire evening talking. By their second date, a Mayer Hawthorne concert at El Club, they already knew there was something special there. Even without much chance to talk, being together just felt comfortable. Since then, their relationship has been built on the things that matter most to them, music, family, friends, and making each other laugh. They’ve been on more concert dates than they can count, including a memorable trip to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in New York. Hayden’s quick wit keeps Mary laughing daily, while Mary brings the kind of warmth and energy that makes everyone feel welcome. One of my favorite parts of their story is how naturally they’ve become part of each other’s families. Whether it’s Hayden teasing Mary’s mom about her decorative ceramic artichoke taking up valuable kitchen counter space or Mary fitting right in with Hayden’s family’s love of thrifting and vintage treasures, they’ve created a life that feels deeply connected to the people around them.
Their wedding day at Goldner Walsh was a perfect reflection of that. Surrounded by lush greenery, vintage details, and the people they love most, they celebrated not only becoming husband and wife but also the community that has supported them along the way. And yes, there was plenty of excitement surrounding Hayden’s choreographed Love Shack dance. Mary and Hayden, thank you for inviting us into such a joyful day. It was an honor to witness the beginning of this next chapter.
