You never really expect to meet someone worthwhile on a dating app, but apparently Hinge had other plans for Allie and Lucas. Their first date was supposed to be drinks, but somehow they ended up talking for six hours. SIX HOURS. By the time they finally left, they were both completely flabbergasted. And honestly, that pretty much set the tone for their relationship. These two have never been afraid to go all in. They moved in together quickly and completely on a whim, met each other’s friends, and somehow managed to make the whole “we’re probably moving too fast” thing work really, really well. Since then, they’ve experienced loss together, traveled all over the world, made endless plans, and collected a never-ending list of things they want to do and learn together.
They quickly found family in one another and somehow melted perfectly into each other’s lives. Then, naturally, they adopted a dog to co-raise and officially prove they were a family. 😂 Their weekends are usually packed with way too much, followed by smoking and relaxing together at the end of the day. They make incredible food, get wildly obsessed with learning new things, and are basically an all-or-nothing couple. A little dramatic? Maybe. But Allie wouldn’t change a thing.
Their Chinese American elopement at PJ Hoffmaster State Park in Norton Shores, Michigan was such a beautiful reflection of who they are. They wanted their wedding day to be meaningful and intentional, while also celebrating the community and family they’ve built around them. His family owns a restaurant and they were eager to help out and make food for the day. Other friends and family pitched in to help set up and make everything run smoothly. It was a perfect blend of cultures and families coming together to celebrate these two making it official.
More than anything, they were excited to make a meaningful commitment to each other and begin this next chapter surrounded by the people they love. Their Michigan elopement was intimate, relaxed, and completely theirs, just like their relationship. And after everything they’ve already experienced together, I have a feeling this is only the beginning of a very long list of adventures for these two. ❤️
