Finkbeiner Wedding-251

We want to book you! What’s the first step?

Thank you so much for your interest! There are a few ways to contact me, with the contact page on this site, by emailing or sending me a personal message on my Facebook or Instagram page. I will respond as quickly as possible and answer any questions you may have. Helpful information to have ready is when you would like to set up a shoot, what your budget is, and what style you are looking for. If you are inquiring about weddings I will send you my wedding guide that will answer a ton of questions! Then from there we can either book the date or if you’d be more comfortable grabbing coffee with me or skyping first I’m totally down.

How far ahead should we book our photo session?

For weddings I recommend getting in touch with me as soon as possible. I have booked wedding dates more than a year out and expect my dates to fill up quickly. If you have a small intimate wedding or a last minute portrait session those can be planned with less time. I am a planner by nature, so the sooner the better to make sure I can give you my best.

We are a non traditional couple are you ok with that?

OF COURSE! I strive to be as inclusive and equality minded as possible. Wether you are  same sex, trans, polyamorous, conservative, muslim, bi racial, or anything in between I want to share your unique style and do not discriminate against any type of love. Just be open and honest with me and I’ll do everything I can to make you comfortable and excited about your photos!

What should we expect from a photo session with you?

I love capturing natural personality, so my sessions tend to be laid back and relaxed. I love involving you in all aspects including choosing locations, poses, etc. I am open to any ideas you have so open communication is key! I love getting to know my clients, as many of them become close friends. I try not to direct too much, because I notice that people stiffen up a lot when I do that. Consider me just a friend or family member having a conversation with you and the perfect photos will follow!

What should we wear?

For portraiture sessions I recommend wearing whatever makes you most comfortable. Neutral colors and simple patterns or solids often work best. If you are doing a family session, coordinate, but you don’t need to match. For senior sessions if you have a hobby or sport that includes a specific outfit, feel free to bring that along as well! For more information on portraiture sessions and a bit more about what to wear, check out my Portraiture Guide

What do you recommend for time of day for sessions?

For outdoor portraits Golden Hour is best! This references the warm sun that happens 1-2 hours before sunset. If possible I try to schedule all shoots during this time, however I know it may not always be possible. If you choose another time during the day, rest assured that the photos will still be spectacular.

What about location?

I have many location ideas for each type of session, please refer to the Portraiture Guide for more details. I also love doing in home sessions. Homes are full of great details and clients tend to feel more natural and comfortable in their own space. Please note that locations more than 30 minutes outside of the Grand Rapids area may be charged a small fee.

What is your turnaround time?

Portraits take about 1-2 weeks from start to finish. You will be emailed a link to your proofing gallery as well as web sized files of all final images. Wedding collections may take up to 4 weeks depending on the season. I am such an excited editor that most likely I will get your images to you within the week. I can’t wait for you to see them and for me to share them, so don’t worry about waiting months to get those precious memories back!

How do I view/order my photos after our session?

Once photos are finished I will email you with a link to the proofing gallery, where you will be able to view all images and get your downloads. In the proofing gallery you will be able to select as many or as few prints and products as you like. You will always be able to print your images somewhere else, I just ask that you purchase through me if you plan on printing your images 8×10 or lager. Client galleries will be saved and you will be able to print products even after your initial order. For custom albums please contact for more information.

What if I want a photo altered after I’ve received my proofing gallery?

Not a problem, all efforts will be made to accommodate the request, but please understand some changes may not be possible.  The first 3 revision requests are free; however, afterwards it is an additional $50 per edit.

Do I get to download the images from my session to my computer?

Yes, web-sized digital copies of your pictures are included in the session fee, and you can use your digital copies for social media, photo albums, and personal use. Please note that web sized digital copies will only be sized to a 8×10. If you would like full printing rights along with High Resolution files of all images you may do so under the Digital Media tab in your proofing gallery. This will allow you to print any and all photos from wherever you choose at anytime. If you are using a photo for your school yearbook and they need a copyright release, please let me know and I can email that to you.

Do you have a copyright policy, and can I post my pictures to Facebook?

Liv Lyszyk Photography retains the copyright to the images, meaning you cannot enter them in contests, use them for advertising purposes, etc without permission. However, you may absolutely post the pictures to Facebook and other social media,  but I do ask that you tag my business page anytime you post them.
